Back in 1960, a dog fancier visited founder Irv Grannick's pharmacy and asked for a product that could stop her dog from chewing and licking his coat. No such product existed, so Grannick decided to come up with his own formula called \"Bitter Apple®\". Fascinated by its efficacy, many dog fanciers and breeders were eager to get their hands on it. That was when Grannick decided to establish \"Grannick's Bitter Apple®\" as a brand of taste deterrent for dogs.
Many copycat products appeared because other manufacturers all wanted a piece of Grannick's success. These copycat brands have come and gone because dog soon acquired a taste for them, but Grannick's Bitter Apple® works and keeps working even to this day.
